Events Gallery - Academic Session: 2024- 25

1. Intra- Collegiate Chess Championship organised for the students of Feroze Gandhi College, Rae Bareli- 09.12.2024

        As a part of College- level sports events, a Chess Championship was organised for the students of the College on individual participation basis by the Department of Physical Education on 09.12.2024. The championship was inaugurated by Prof. Udai Bhan Singh, the Convener of the Games Committee of the College. Addressing the 16 chess players who participated in the championship, Prof. U.B. Singh said that practicing and playing chess develops and hones the mental abilities and decision making power of students.

     Aniket Dwivedi emerged as the winner and Agam Yadav as the runner- up of the championship. Prof. C. Lal, Prof. and Head, Department of Physical Education announced that the winner and the runner- up will be awarded prizes in the Annual Sports of the College.

2. Intra- Collegiate Badminton Championship for the students of Feroze Gandhi College, Rae Bareli- 09.12.2024 and 10.12.2024.

        As a part of the College- level sports events, a Badminton Championship was organised for the students of the College on individual participation basis by the Department of Physical Education on 09.12.2024 and 10.12.2024. The Intra- Collegiate Badminton Championship was inaugurated by the Managing Secretary, Shri Atul Bhargava. The 13 female participants pf singles matches and the 05 doubles teams were introduced to the Managing Secretary, Shri Atul Bhargava, Joint Secretary of the Managing Committee, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Pandey, the Principal, Prof. Manoj Kumar Tripathi and the Chief Proctor, Dr. Arvind Singh by Prof. C. Lal and other Members of the Games Committee.

     In the women’s doubles event, the team Lashmi Sharma and Shivani emerged as the winners by defeating the runner- up team of Palak and Lakshmi by a score of 15- 6, 15- 10 in the final match.

3. Two- day Inter- Faculty T- 20 Cricket Tournament- 06.02.2025 and 07.02.2025

            Two- day Inter- Faculty T- 20 Cricket tournament was organised by the Department of Physical Education on the sports ground of the College on 06.02.2025 and 07.02.2025. Four Faculty level teams had participated in the tournament. The final match was played between the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Science teams in which Faculty of Arts team emerged as the winners and the Faculty of Science team finished as the runners- up. The M.A. (Hindi), 4th Semester student Faroukh Shekh was adjudged as the man of the match for his overall batting and bowling performance. 

            Deciding to bat first after winning the toss, the Faculty of Arts team piled up a large score of 230 runs in 20 overs. Captain of the team, Faroukh Shekh scored 113 runs off 41 balls with the help of 13 sixes. Navneet Kumar scored 26 runs. Priyanshu, Satyam and Krishna claimed 2 wickets each for the Faculty of Science team. In reply, the Faculty of Science team were all out for only 150 runs and the match was easily won by the Faculty of Arts team by beating the former by a huge margin of 80 runs. Pranay Tiwari and Adhyayan Singh scored 39 and 13 runs respectively for the Faculty of Science team and Faroukh Shekh, Akash, Manish and Aman claimed two wickets each for the Faculty of Arts team. Shivendra Yadav and Lalit Shukla stood as the umpires and Devansh Srivastava did the scoring in the final match. 

             Before the start of the final match, Prof.C. Lal, Head, Department of Physical Education introduced the players of both the finalist teams to the Principal, Prof. Manoj Kumar Tripathi and the Convener of the Games Committee, Prof. U.B. Singh. Members of the Games Committee, including Dr. Pravesh Kumar, Dr. Garun Seth, Dr. Dhananjay Singh, Dr. Shravan Dikshit, Dr. Ashish Chandran, Dr. Satish Kumar, Shri Tariq, Shri Sumit Kumar, Dr. Gulab Singh, Shri Imran, Shri Amit Kumar, Smt. Anita Bajpeyee and the Coach, Shri Ayaz were also present during the match.

4. Inter- Faculty Volleyball Tournament- 06.02.205

            Inter- Faculty Volleyball Tournament was organised by the Department of Physical Education on the sports ground of the College on 06.02.2025. The first semi- final match was won by the Department of Physical Education team by beating the Faculty of Science team by a margin of 15- 4, 15- 8. The second semi- final match was won by the Faculty of Arts- A team by beating the Faculty of Arts- B team by a margin of 15- 5, 15- 8. The final match and the tournament was won by the Faculty of Arts- A team which beat the Department of Physical Education team by a margin of 17- 25, 25- 21, 25- 21.

5. Shivani participated in the North Zone Inter University Women's Badminton Tournament, 2025 in Ludhiana- 10.12.2025

    Shivani, a student of B.Sc. (Semester- 3), 2025- 26 in the College and also a badminton player, participated in the North Zone Inter University Women’s Badminton Tournament in Ludhiana, Punjab from 10.12.2025- 14.12.2025 as a member of the University of of Lucknow Women’s Badminton team.

6. Anshu Sonkar, a student of B.A. (Semester- 1) Class, 2025- 26 in Feroze Gandhi College, Rae Bareli participated in the All India Inter- University Men's Yogasan Championship 2025- 26 organised by VELS Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies (VISTAS) at Pallavaram, Chennai from 18.12.2025 to 22.12.2025.

7. Pooja Sonkar, a student of B.A. (Semester- 3) Class, 2025- 26 in Feroze Gandhi College, Rae Bareli has been selected to represent the University of Lucknow Women's Hockey Team in the North Zone Inter- University Hockey Tournament.- 18.12.2025.

8. Taneesha Arya Selected for North Zone Inter-University Women’s Football

Taneesha Arya, a student of B.A. (Semester- 1) Class, 2025- 26 in Feroze Gandhi College, Rae Bareli has been selected to represent the University of Lucknow Women’s Football Team in the North Zone Inter- University Women’s Football Tournament.- 22.12.2025.

9. Intra- mural Games and Sports Competitions of the College. - 20.01.2026- 05.02.2026.

    The Intra- mural Games and Sports Competitions of the College for the academic session 2025- 26 were organised from 20.01.2026 to 05.02.2026. Chess, badminton, kabaddi, volleyball and table tennis comp were the sporting activities that were organised.

(i) In the intensely contested final match Shivani, B.Sc. (Semester- II) beat Palak Soni, M.Sc. (Semester- IV) 14- 16, 16- 14, 15- 3 to emerge as the champion in the Intra- mural Badminton Championship (Women’s), 2025- 26 of the College.

(ii) The duo of Shivani and Palak Soni emerged as the winners and the team of Sanjana and Alpana emerged as the runners- up of the Intra- mural Badminton Championship (Men’s), 2025- 26 of the College.

(iii) Swastik and Vishwajeet teamed up to emerge as the winners of Intra- mural Doubles Badminton (Men’s) Championship 2025- 26. The team of Satyam and Vivek finished as the runners up.

(iv) Prasendra Rai, B.Sc. (Sem- II) was the winner and Trayambakam Shukla, B.Sc. (Sem- II) was the runner- up in the Intra- mural Chess (Men’s) Championship 2025- 26.

10. Mohit, student of B.A. (Semester- 4), 2025- 26 in Feroze Gandhi College, Rae Bareli selected to represent the University of Lucknow Taekwondo team to participate in the North Zone Inter- University Taekwondo competition- 07.02.2026.

    Mohit, a student of B.A. (Semester- 4), 2025- 26 in the College put up an excellent performance in the Inter- Collegiate Taekwondo Championship (80kgs category) of the University of Lucknow on 07.02.2026 and was selected as a member of the University of Lucknow Taekwondo Team to participate to participate in the North Zone Inter- University Taekwondo Competition.

11. Annual Sports Meet of Feroze Gandhi College, Rae Bareli- 16.02.2026 and 17.02.2026.

    The Annual Sports Meet 2025- 26 of Feroze Gandhi College, Rae Bareli was organised on the sports ground of the College on 16.02.2026 and 17.02.2026. The Inaugural Function of the Sports Meet was graced by the Executive Director of AlIMS, Rae Bareli, Dr. Amita Jain as the Chief Guest and the Function was presided over by the President of the Managing Committee, Er. S.L. Chandwani. The Vice President of the Managing Committee, Shri Rajeeva Bhargava and the Managing Secretary, Er. Atul Bhargava were the Guests of Honour of the Function. The Chief Guest, Dr. Amita Jain ceremonially inaugurated the Sports Meet by receiving the salute of the marching contingents of the PAC Band, NCC Company, Rovers and Rangers Unit, and the sports teams of the College, raising the College flag, releasing balloons in the air, lighting the torch (mashaal) of the Meet, administering the oath to the participants and formally declaring the Sports Meet open.

    The Inaugural Function started on 16.02.2026 with the Principal, Prof. Manoj Kumar Tripathi welcoming all guests, retired and serving teachers, all participants and media persons. The Head, Department of Physical Education and Secretary, Games Committee, Prof. C. Lal presented the Annual Progress Report, 2025- 26 of the Department of Physical Education of the College. The Vice President, Shri Rajeeva Bhargava underlined the importance of such sporting events in fostering a spirit of healthy competition among the students. The Managing Secretary, Er. Atul Bhargava traced the growth of the College from a small institution in 1960 to its present state. Delivering her inaugural address, the Chief Guest, Dr. Amita Jain exhorted the students to regularly participate in sporting, physical and Yoga activities by emphasising that a healthy mind lives in a healthy body and only healthy minds can lead the country on its way to the ambitious goal of Viksit Bharat 2047. Proposing a vote of thanks towards the end of the inaugural function, the President of the College Sports Committee, Prof. Niranjan Kumar Singh expressed the view that participation in sporting activities teaches a student to accept victory or defeat, success or failure with dignity and equanimity of mind thus enabling them to have the inner strength and courage to cope up with the situations of adversity in life.

(i).    The Prize Distribution and Closing Ceremony of the Annual Sports Meet was held on 17.02.2026. Senior journalist, freelance writer, eminent social worker of Rae Bareli and former Bureau Chief of the Hindi daily Hindustan, Shri Gaurav Awasthi was the Chief Guest of the Closing Ceremony in which the former Principal of the College, Dr. Adarsh Kumar and the Manager of Rising Child Public School, Shri Arvind Srivastava were present as the Guests of Honour. The Ceremony was presided over by Shri Rajeeva Bhargava. The Prize Distribution part of the Closing ceremony was conducted by Dr. C. Lal who proposed a formal vote of thanks for everyone at the end of the Ceremony. The Inaugural Function and Closing Ceremony were successfully conducted by Dr. Santosh Kumar Pandey, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi.

(ii).  Anju, a student of B.A. (Semester- 2) class, 2025- 26 was declared the best female athlete and Neelesh Saroj, a student of M.A. (Semester- 2) class, 2025- 26 was adjudged as the best male athlete of the College in the Sports Meet
